D\u2019origine am\u00e9ricaine, le folk d\u00e9signe la musique populaire traditionnelle et, par extension les danses traditionnelles,<\/div>
et regroupe une vari\u00e9t\u00e9 de genres musicaux.<\/div>
Il a vu le jour aux Etats Unis en 1960, puis s\u2019est \u00e9tendu dans de nombreux pays y compris la France en 1964.<\/div>
Les pr\u00e9curseurs du folk dans notre pays sont Alan Stivell,\u00a0Tri Yan\u00a0et bien d\u2019autres.<\/div>
En Vend\u00e9e\u00a0par exemple, l\u2019avant deux est une danse ex\u00e9cut\u00e9e traditionnellement dans les mariages, la mara\u00eechine,\u00a0issue du marais vend\u00e9en, a \u00e9t\u00e9 r\u00e9activ\u00e9e dans l\u2019entre deux guerres par des groupes folkloriques. Dans cette danse, on commence par reculer puis on avance pour symboliser la c\u00e9l\u00e9bration du soleil. Il\u00a0y a\u00a0aussi\u00a0le Branle de Noirmoutier, du Poitou\u2026<\/div>
Dans toutes les provinces fran\u00e7aises, les musiques et danses populaires traditionnelles ont \u00e9t\u00e9 remises au go\u00fbt du jour et sont pratiqu\u00e9es dans les bals folk ou bals trad.<\/div>
Les pas principaux sont les pas de valse, de polka, de bourr\u00e9e, de mara\u00eechine, de gavotte, de rondo, de mazurka, sans oublier les danses bretonnes (dans les fest noz notamment) tels que les andros, les larid\u00e9s, les branles), etc\u2026<\/div>
Mais il y a des danses multiples et vari\u00e9es (France, Isra\u00ebl,\u00a0Moldavie, Roumanie, Balkans, Angleterre, Autriche, Am\u00e9rique du Sud\u2026) qui ne n\u00e9cessitent\u00a0aucune connaissance de ces pas et qui peuvent\u00a0\u00eatre dans\u00e9es par des d\u00e9butants. Il suffit de m\u00e9moriser la chor\u00e9graphie. Elles permettent \u00e9galement de danser m\u00eame non accompagn\u00e9s puisque certaines sont en cercle.<\/div>
